Q – Who is your album manufacturer?
A – Well…I’m not the type to kiss and tell, but I can say I love our album company. There are many album companies out there that offer various styles of albums and all manner of pricing. I have chosen my manufacturer because of their unsurpassed quality and craftsmanship. They do not provide albums to the general public and only supply albums to professional photographers. As such all of my equipment such as cameras and monitors are calibrated with their equipment for optimal color accuracy and quality. They are also made right in here in the U.S.A. by skilled craftsman bookmakers and come with a lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship. I think that’s a pretty big deal.
Q – What is the turn around time on an album once it’s sent to print?
A – It can take up to 4 weeks to produce an album, however we usually get them back from the printer in about 2-3 weeks. If you have ants in your pants and just can’t wait that long, they do offer expedited production. Pricing on expedited production can vary based on the style and size of an album. Q – Why do I only get to choose a certain amount of images for my album?
A – You get to choose a set amount of favorites and “must haves” for your album and we fill the remaining portion of the album with other images from the session or event. This is done because when you spend your hard earned money on something like an album, you only get one shot at it, so let me help you make the most of it. Part of what your purchasing is a professional design service for your album. An album isn’t just a collection of images from a shoot or a certain event. An album tells a story just like a book. There is a beginning, middle, and an end. I take the tough part of designing an album from start to finish out of your hands and let you relax.
Q – If I selected to ship my album, is the shipment insured?
A – Every album is insured when shipped by the respective carrier used.
Q – I’ve ordered my album and selected my favorites images, now what?
A – Once you have selected your favorites please email me email@example.com and let me know you have have selected your favorites. Now the fun part begins, I start designing your album.
Q – How long does album design take and am I able to request changes?
A – The initial album design takes about a week, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. After I have completed the first draft I will send you a link where you will be able to view every page and approve or request changes. You can approve or request revisions on individual pages so the album will be exactly what you want. You will get 3 revision requests before sending to print. Revision requests are for the album in general, not on a page level. So if you have a 30 page album and you approve 20 pages and request revisions on the remaining 10 pages, that counts as one revision, not ten.
Q – If I don’t like my album once I receive it may I return the album and get a refund?
A – Unfortunately, due to the nature of album design and production, no refunds are permitted. This is why all albums require you to approve all proofs prior to sending to print. So don’t be shy about letting me know what changes you want made and what changes are important to you during the proofing process. This is the perfect time for you to be vocal about what you want out of your album.
