Well, hello there!  My name is Jon.  I am a Dallas, Texas based photographer specializing in weddings, portraits, and various commercial photography.  Around here I take care of all the wedding day shoots and commercial shoots as well as the editing and boring backend office stuff.

Oh, another thing…I’m going to be taking your picture so let’s take a moment to get acquainted shall we?  My style could be summed up in 3 words; fun, timeless, clean.  I learned years ago on film so I always shoot for having the image come strait out of the camera with minimal post production needed.  I usually get a lot of laughs at my sessions because I have a sailor’s mouth and lack a brain-mouth-filter…you know, like most men.  I’m no exception.  I do have jokes but I make no guarantee they’re any good.  Although if you have a bit of a dark side to your humor sprinkled with a small dose of tackiness then we’ll get along just fine.

I wish I could tell you I was born with a camera in my hand or that my dad was a photographer and his dad was a photographer and so on.  However, it didn’t start that way for me.  It did start with my beautiful bride, Amy, who is an amazing and well-respected Dallas wedding photographer.  A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, Amy, that beautiful lady pictured below, started her journey into photography and graciously asked if I would join her on this adventure.  Challenge accepted!  Aside from marrying her, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

One would think that taking pictures is my favorite part about what I do, but surprisingly that isn’t the case.  It’s the people.  More to the point, it’s you.  I try to do everything I can to learn from those around me at all times.  I’m blessed to have the best clients in the world.  Those clients teach me how to live each day and I’m fortunate enough to be able to share in the love they have for each other and those around them and freeze that moment in time with pictures.

The photographer and teacher, Ralph Hattersley once said “We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us”.  With that said, what does your life mean to you and how can I capture that for you?

Why would you hover your mouse over my picture? Surely you don’t want to see a larger picture of me, right? Well, I’m flattered, thanks. But let’s schedule a consult so you can see the 3D version of me!

A photographer went to a dinner party where he showed many of his photographs. The lady of the house said, “those are very nice pictures, you must have a great camera.” He said nothing, but when leaving for home offered the following compliment to the lady of the house “The meal was very nice, you must have great pots and pans.”

My turn!  I’m Amy and I take care of all the portrait work and social media stuff.  The backend work bores me to death, so I like that Jon takes care of that!

I specialize in weddings, portraits, underwater photography, and telling silly jokes :).  I grew up in Dallas watching my Grandmother paint wonderful portraits of families.  As a little girl I was fascinated with her work and I regularly would sneak into her back room where she painted and I sat in amazement of her skill.  All the easels, brushes, and portraits lying about only added excitement and intrigue to what she did.  It was then that I knew I would follow in her foot steps and be an artist.  I wound up taking drawing and painting classes in college to advance my own skills.  Then, I took a photography course and it all changed.  Once I discovered you could paint with light, it was all over, I wanted to be photographer!  The way that one can manipulate their art with the proper photographic techniques had me hooked from the beginning.  Photography had me at “hello”. My dear and wonderful husband Jon encouraged and pushed to me to follow my passion for the lens.  As a result I get to do what I love every day!  It continues to be more and more rewarding and satisfying with every press of the shutter.  It only makes it more special that I get to enjoy my passion for photography with all of you!
